Cupping & Guasha
Tired of being in pain?
Get out of pain quickly with cupping & gua sha therapies that break up adhesions and knots in the muscle tissue to improve blood flow and circulation leaving you with instant relief.
What is cupping therapy?
Cupping has been used in many East Asian cultures for thousands of years. Not only is it useful for musculoskeletal pain and injuries, but it can also help get you over a cold or flu faster, break up phlegm and congestion that accompany a cough, ease digestive complaints, and serve as a nervous system relaxant for conditions like anxiety.
Fire Cupping
Fire cupping is the use of cups placed on the skin or muscles to cause a suction. This suction helps promote circulation by stretching and moving the fascia and muscles. It helps reduce pain, promotes lymph movement, and treats old injuries.
About Gua Sha
Gua Sha involves gently "scraping" the skin with a tool that is made out of porcelain, jade, or metal. This traditional modality is used in a similar fashion to cupping to relieve muscular adhesions, but can sometimes be preferable for contoured areas such as the neck.
What’s with those marks?
Both cupping & gua sha can leave therapeutic pitchaie (bruise like marks) on the body for a few days after treatment, keep in mind though that it does not hurt to get these therapies done. These marks are an indication of the lack of blood flow and circulation in these areas. Generally these marks fade within 1-7 days.
Facial Cupping & Gua Sha
Facial cupping involves the application of small suction cups to the tissues and muscles of the neck and face. For facial guasha it is utilized in a similar fashion, with a guasha tool. This technique is great for rejuvenating the tissues of the facial skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and leaving you with a healthy, luminous glow! Generally facial cupping does not leave marks on the skin.
